Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus

Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus

9.5 Total Score
Winner: Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus Score: 9.5/10

The Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus is surely the best smartphone that you can buy in 2018 till now. The new smartphone features an improved camera for better low-light shots, a new Super Slow-Mo video mode, and improved performance - all the handsets inside the devices that are always the most stylish.

PROS
  • Elegant design
  • Excellent display
  • Awesome camera
  • Android Oreo
  • Excellent Audio experience
CONS
  • Battery backup not so good

The Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus is a big phone designed for big hands. The 6.2-inch Super AMOLED display has been rated as one of the best at the moment, with super color, excellent dynamic range and, most importantly, the best viewing experience you can have on a mobile phone. The camera on the Samsung Galaxy S9+ is among the best on the market, and the double-open capability delivers surprisingly good shots when things get a little darker. The battery life on the Galaxy S9+ is better than that of the smaller S9, thanks to the 3500 mAh battery of the Plus model – although this is probably the weakest part of the phone.

Apple iPhone X

Apple iPhone X

9.4Expert Score
Runner-up: Apple iPhone X

The iPhone X was a huge gamble Apple, but who really paid six months in our tests. Losing the home button and changing the design was a dangerous move, but that was greatly needed after years of similarity and advanced design, extra power, front screen together to create - by far - the best Apple iPhone ever made.

PROS
  • Looks and feels like the future
  • Face ID works well
  • OLED Display is jaw-dropping
  • Portrait Mode is up front, with new Lighting effects
  • It’s blazing fast for AR and More
  • Dual cameras take superior pictures
  • Wireless Charging
CONS
  • It’s very costly
  • Fast charging costs extra
  • Home Button is Removed
  • Learning Curve

It has a brand new shape, the notch at the top and a higher price, but it’s also the best iPhone that has been made. The 5.8-inch OLED screen is the best screen Apple has ever had in an iPhone. It is far ahead of the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus for many reasons: sharpness, quality, the fact that it fills the entire front of the phone, and color reproduction. The battery life of the iPhone X is pretty good, but it’s not the best in class. If you are a massive user, you might have a hard time lasting more than 12 hours, but for most users, it will last a whole day. The cameras on iPhones have always been great, and the iPhone X is no different. The camera on the X is often beautiful, offering still images that are rich in detail. This is the best phone to buy if you want to offer a high-end device.

Google Pixel 2 XL

Google Pixel 2 XL

9.3Expert Score
2nd Runner-up: Google Pixel 2 XL

Despite the loss of the valuable 3.5mm headphone jack, the Pixel 2 XL is catching up with a mix of unique features and sought-after stardom design, waterproofing, Active Edge and a truly awesome camera.

PROS
  • Best of the camera image quality
  • Beautiful and Topnotch
  • Exceptional software experience with Stock Android Oreo
  • Good battery life
  • Fast charging with 90% in about 60 minutes of charge
  • Pixel 2 XL unique features like Google Lens, Active edge are way cool
CONS
  • No wireless charging
  • Lifeless screen
  • Very expensive

The Google Pixel 2 and the Pixel 2 XL both offer outstanding performance, Google support that you can summon by tapping the phone, and an original Google feature that recognizes everything from phone numbers and landmarks to captured photos. For our money, the Pixel 2 XL is the best choice among Google phones, because you get a screen 6 inches more prominent and sharper, longer battery life and, frankly, a much more beautiful design with fewer glasses. The Pixel 2 XL lacks wireless charging, but its fast wired load works well, and its unique rear camera produces photos that give the iPhone X a run for its money.

Samsung Galaxy S9

Samsung Galaxy S9

PROS:
  • The fastest Android phones
  • Premium water-tight design
  • Class-leading AMOLED screen
  • Great audio skills and stereo speakers
  • Variable aperture camera
  • 960fps slow-mo, automatic motion detection
  • Class-leading still and video quality

  • Not-So-Intelligent Scan
  • Slow to issue Android updates
  • No fast charging

The Samsung Galaxy S9 is the best Android phone in the world right now, boasting the bright Infinity Edge screen that occupies 84% of the body and guts. Yes, this futuristic smartphone is a looker, and Samsung has managed to resist the temptation to add an iPhone X-style notch, which is a good thing. The S9 is the perfect package, as well as the fantastic display and industry-leading specifications; this handset also has a decent battery life, an excellent camera, and an incredible performance. The 5.8-inch S9 is perfect, but if you’re looking for a bigger and bigger smartphone, Samsung also offers the Galaxy S9 Plus with a massive 6.2-inch screen.

LG G7 ThinQ

LG G7 ThinQ

PROS:
  • Massive display with optional notch
  • AI-powered camera
  • Better low-light photos
  • Boombox speaker

CONS:
  • Unoriginal design
  • The display is not OLED
  • Too small earpiece
  • Can’t customize side button

The LG G7 ThinQ is an awesome little brand phone (irritating name aside), bringing with it a rugged package and a decent price in many areas. LG’s Super Bright screen may not be OLED – the LCD is preferred here – but it is capable of providing good maximum brightness, can handle HDR10 and Dolby Vision playback, and has a wide and wide aspect with a notch smaller. The camera here is great if you want to capture more of the picture, with a much wider field of view bringing more information. At 3000mAh, the LG G7 ThinQ is not the biggest on the market … and it shows in the performance.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8

Samsung Galaxy Note 8

PROS:
  • Infinity Display & Powerful Processor
  • The Power of the S-Pen
  • Dual Camera + Dual OIS
  • Bluetooth 5.0 and IP68
  • Wireless Charging
  • Excellent battery life

CONS:
  • Inaccessible Fingerprint Sensor
  • No Stereo Speakers

The Galaxy Note 8 brought more Samsung for the note 7. It raises the bar for all phones with a giant screen. The Infinity 6.3-inch screen stretches from one edge to the other and is simply beautiful. More importantly, the two cameras in Note 8 give you more flexibility than other phones, allowing you to adjust the Live Focus (bokeh) effect before and after shooting. The S Pen is also enhanced on this phone, allowing you to save more screen memos and create new Live Messages that you can share with others. And the last but not least is a battery that lasts 11 + hours. The Samsung Note 8 is expensive, but it’s worth it.

LG V30

LG V30

PROS:
  • Elegant and ergonomic design
  • Rear camera performance
  • Water and dust resistant
  • Excellent battery back up
  • Snappy performance
  • IP68 certified – dust/waterproof over 1.5 meters and 30 minutes
  • Dual Pixel 16-megapixels, f/1.6 + OIS + laser PDAF + 13-megapixels, f/1.6
  • Bluetooth version is 5.0

CONS:
  • No portrait mode
  • Disappointing selfie camera performance
  • No IR Blaster

The V30 sports the trendy 18: 9 format with an attractive 6-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2880 x 1440 (QHD). Serious content creators should take a look at the LG V30, which has the best wide-angle camera in a phone, but with a large f / 1.6 aperture to let in a lot of light. The V30 also captures a superb 4K video complete with a wide range of compelling effects and filters that you will not find anywhere else, and a recent software update adds the same image recognition features that LG integrates into its new G7 ThinQ phone. The battery life is one of the best features of the LG V30, which easily lasts a day and if you are a light user, it could potentially go two days between charging.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus

Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus

PROS:
  • A stunning curved design
  • The quick fingerprint sensor and iris scanner
  • Bixby Smart Voice assistant
  • Excellent camera that can take a great picture even in low-light
  • Protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5
  • IP68 certified dust and waterproof body over 1.5 meters for 30 minutes

CONS:
  • Uncomfortable fingerprint scanner
  • Battery is Non-removable
  • No IR Blaster
  • No 128GB or 256GB Internal memory version is available worldwide

The 6.2-inch screen, actually called an Infinity display by Samsung, is spreading over the edge of the mobile phone, and is a well-made mixture of glass and metal. It feels fabulous in hand, thanks to its rolling design – and like the other Galaxies in this list, is also water resistant, at an IP67 level. The camera is a perfect fusion of automatic mode, and pro settings for those who like to enjoy a little deeper – the quality of the shots are usually very sharp, and the quality of the screen highlights your photos. The battery life is longer than the Galaxy S8 Plus compared to the Galaxy S8.

OnePlus 6

OnePlus 6

PROS:
  • Snappy Processor for the Price
  • A Tall and Notch-ed Display
  • Get a Taste of Android P
  • Good quality display
  • Excellent battery backup
  • Budget Phone

CONS:
  • No Wireless Charging
  • Water Resistant and Not Waterproof

The OnePlus 6 is one of the fastest Android phones on the market. Its combination of the high-end Snapdragon 845 processor, the powerful Adreno 630 GPU and 8 GB of RAM (4 GB more than the Samsung Galaxy S9) makes the OnePlus 6 smoke the opposition when it comes to benchmark scores. The 6.29-inch 19.19-inch AMOLED display on the phone is not the absolute best on the market, nor its camera or battery system, however, they are all competitive and help provide a mobile package top of the line. The use of Android 8.1 Oreo and OnePlus’ light skin of vanilla, OxygenOS, adds to this speed, both with menu navigation and with the loading and switching of an application.

Huawei P20 PRO

Huawei P20 PRO

PROS:
  • 6 GB/128 GB internal storage
  • 6.1 inch Full HD AMOLED Display
  • Rear Triple camera 40 MP (f/1.8), 20 MP (f/1.6), 8 MP
  • Front Camera f/2.0
  • Hisilicon Kirin 970 octa-core Processor
  • 4000 mAh battery
  • IP67 certified

CONS:
  • Mirror glass back attracts fingerprints like there’s no tomorrow
  • No microSD slot, no 3.5mm jack
  • The EMUI may not be to Android purists taste

The Huawei P20 Pro is the latest flagship of the Chinese smartphone giant, and we love it. It’s the perfect smartphone if you’re looking for a premium alternative to the iPhone X and Samsung Galaxy S9, but it also has many features that make it an excellent device in its own right. The OS is fast approaching, and the design and feel of this device are fantastic. The 6.1-inch screen is only Full HD, but it helps the battery life. This is one of the weakest parts of the phone. The Huawei P20 Pro offers you a day and a half of light to moderate use. After a month of effort, it fills with applications, but despite that, we have a good day, which is excellent. We love the triple camera brand Leica P20 Pro. Yes, you heard right, this camera has three camera sensors, a 40MP RGB, Monochrome 20MP and 8MP telephoto.
